Beginning today and hosted at Charitybuzz.com/vwpinkbeetle, the auction offers bidders the opportunity to become the first owner of the new limited-edition #PinkBeetle in the United States before the model hits dealer showrooms in October. The winning bid will support Giuliana Rancic's FAB-U-WISH and The Pink Agenda to raise money for breast cancer research and care, granting wishes to women undergoing breast cancer treatment, and to increase awareness of the disease among young professionals. (VWGoA) today announced the grand opening of its new $6.8 million Pacific Northwest Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Rocklin, Calif. The company also confirmed that it will invest an estimated $4.5 million to open a new training center in Eastvale, Calif., just outside of Los Angeles. These facilities, which represent an estimated $11.3 million investment, are part of the company's long-term commitment to the U.S. market and a broader strategy to invest more than $7 billion in North America through 2019.

Wolfsburg (12 April 2016). A taste of things to come in a new era of rallying: Volkswagen gives an insight into the next generation of the Polo R WRC. The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) steps into a promising future in 2017. More powerful, faster, and more spectacular -- the Polo R WRC will generate about 380 hp/280 kW in the future. That is roughly 60 hp/45 kW more than the current car (318 hp/235 kW). Lighter, wider, and with more aerodynamic freedom -- the Volkswagen designers have produced a visual concept, which reveals how the Polo R WRC may appear in the coming season. Volkswagen has been developing the third generation of the Polo R WRC since summer 2015, when the International Automobile Federation (FIA) released the new regulations for the highest class of rallying in the world. Having already successfully tested key components in the current chassis, development of Volkswagen's third World Rally Car now enters the crucial phase.

Wolfsburg (04 March 2016). The new Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR has the seal of quality in its name: 40 years after the launch of the first Golf GTI, the customer racing version also possesses the acronym that, since 1976, has been synonymous with the Wolfsburg-based car maker's sporting character, powerful engines and maximum performance. Since it was first unveiled in July 2015, the Golf has been hugely popular on the racetracks of this world: all the customer racing models for the 2016 season had already been snapped up by mid-January. The teams can field the 20 cars, which were developed by Volkswagen Motorsport, in up to 16 national and international TCR touring car championships. The cars for the international TCR championship in Abrera/Barcelona (E) are to be handed over to the customer racing teams from 11th March. An initial roll-out with the opposition is planned for the test drives at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia (E) from 14th March.
